From 14th December 2007, properties marketed for sale in England and Wales need a Home Information Pack (HIP), which includes a home energy rating. The Pack includes an Energy Performance Certificate, containing advice on how to cut carbon emissions and fuel bills together with a sale statement, some searches and evidence of title.

It is now compulsory for all properties marketed for sale to have a Home Information Pack.

Notice to Landlords - Any properties that are avaliable to let now require an EPC before they can be marketed. An EPC is the 'Energy Performance Certificate' element of the HIP and we can arrange for an energy assesor to visit your property and carry out a survey.
