Robert Oates, qualified as a Solicitor in 1974 and joined the firm a year later becoming a Partner in 1976 with responsibility for developing the litigation side of the practice. Robert is now retired from the partnership but remains at Sharp and Partners as a consultant.
In those early years his caseload consisted of a broad mix of litigation including matrimonial, criminal and civil cases. As time went on Robert developed an interest in employment law with incoming partners taking responsibility for specific areas of law in the litigation department.
Now with more than 15 years experience in Employment Law Robert gives specialised advice on this complex area of law from the drafting of contracts and Service Agreements through to advice on Employment procedures and representation at Employment Tribunals and the Employment Appeal Tribunal.
His overall philosophy is one of giving practical first class advice.
Outside work Robert has developed a keen interest in sailing obtaining an Offshore Yacht Master Ticket and acting as Watch Leader on the Lord Nelson, a Tall Ship designed specifically to take disabled people sailing.
He is married and has two children at a local school. |
